What's Happening at Harcourt Parish
Spring Break Service Trip Information Session January 31st at 11am: Join Rector Helen and Jenn Sanders in the Marriott Dining Room of Peirce Hall at 11am on Tuesday, January 31st to learn more about our short term mission trip. Harcourt Parish and the CCO Ministers are teaming up to offer a short term mission trip to St. Louis March 4th -10th. We hope that this will be an intergenerational trip and all are invited. We will be working with The Bridge homeless ministry as well as talking with the organizers of a new Magdalene Program St. Louis, a community for women with a history of prostitution and drug addiction, based on a program in Nashville. The cost of this trip is underwritten by a College Works grant from the Diocese of Ohio. We expect the cost for individuals to be around $50 per person. Lenten Evening Prayer Readers Needed: Evening Prayer will take place every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in Lent (February 23-April 3) at 5pm around the altar. The service is short and simple, and we're looking for volunteers to help lead the service during the season. If you are interested, please contact Abby Serfass. Many have found this daily discipline a welcome time of reflection during the Lenten season. Please join us!

Lenten Book Study: As a corollary to her Doctor of Ministry project, Helen will lead a small group book study on "Good Fences: The Boundaries of Hospitality" by Caroline A. Westerhoff. Jeana Visel is a Benedictine who is currently studying at the St. John's Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota and has been practicing the art of painting icons for almost seven years. In this presentation, she will give an overview of the physical and spiritual process of "writing" an icon and discuss how to "read" an icon, drawing on the theology of their use in the Orthodox Christian tradition.

Evensong at Grace Episcopal Church February 19th at 4pm: Last year Harcourt Parish hosted an Evensong for the South Central Mission Area (Gambier, Mount Vernon, Mansfield, Wooster, Shelby, Gallion, Marion). This year Grace Episcopal Church in Mansfield is hosting. Bishop Hollingsworth will officiate, and our choir will join in the vocal leadership for some of the special music.
