Holy Week at Home

Easter Sunday

Put on your Easter finest and join the Harcourt Parish community at our regular 10:30am worship time to exchange a joyful Easter greeting, share brief Easter prayers, and a celebratory “virtual coffee hour.” Following our online gathering, you are encouraged to “visit” the National Cathedral for their live-streamed Easter worship (here).

“Holy Week at Home”

As we enter Holy Week during truly exceptional circumstances, we are invited as the church to experience the liturgies enacting Jesus’s death and burial in new ways. Beginning with Palm Sunday (April 5) you are invited to set aside a sacred space in your home to mark the movements of Holy Week. This can be as simple as a space on a bookshelf that you adorn with a cross, a bible, or piece of religious art (keep it simple!). Throughout the week, you may make simple changes to the space to note the movement of the week. Items you may want to gather: branches for Palm Sunday, a small bowl and towel for Maundy Thursday, a candle for the Easter Vigil.
