Summer Updates

Mass on the Grass at **10am**Thank you to everyone who completed our summer worship feedback form. The overwhelming consensus was to maintain our long-standing practice of Mass on the Grass on the chapel lawn during the summer months. We will, however, move the summer service to Sundays at 10am to offset the worst of the morning heat. Summer worship begins June 2 and goes until orientation at Kenyon’s College on August 25 (with Sunday worship at 9am). We will resume our normal 10:30am service September 1.

Dinner ChurchIn an attempt to broaden our outreach to families with children and youth, we are introducing a new Dinner Church service for all ages! The next Dinner Church will take place Saturday June 29 at 5pm beginning with an informal celebration of Holy Communion in the Chapel and dinner to follow at the Parish House. In August, Dinner Church will take place the first Saturday of the month.

Book Group Our study of Walk in Love: A Guide to Episcopal Beliefs and Practices continues this summer with slightly modified dates. We will gather at 12:10 in the Parish House Thursdays June 13 & 20, July 27, and August 8 , 15, and 22. If you would like to join but have not yet acquired a book, please speak to Rev. Rachel.

Kroger Community Rewards program One of the ways that you can support Harcourt Parish is through the Kroger Community Rewards program. This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your shopper’s Card to our organization, all you have to do is shop at Kroger and swipe your Shopper’s Card. Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to Harcourt Parish’s account, at no added cost to you. Kroger donates annually to participating organizations. Just visit the Kroger website to enroll. Then, search for Harcourt Parish or use code DT627 to link your account. Keep an eye out over the summer for more detailed instructions on how to enroll in the program!

Palestinian Anglicans and Clergy Allies Rev. Rachel is a founding member and part of the leadership team for PACA (Palestinian Anglicans and Clergy Allies), a new grass-roots organization of Palestinian Christians worldwide, and the ecumenical alliance of clergy and seminarians who support them. The Harcourt vestry voted to act as fiscal sponsor for the group, as it applies for funding through Episcopal Church grants. PACA is non-political in nature and seeks to educate and equip clergy in the Anglican Communion–and the church in the global west more broadly–to understand, teach, and preach from sound theological and pastoral foundations about the realities faced by Palestinians, especially our Christian siblings. Please reach out to Rev. Rachel with any questions or concerns.
